Allblacks will kick off their 2011 Rugby World Cup campaign with the opening game against Tonga at Eden Park on Friday the 9th September. From there their schedule takes the New Zealand rugby team to the Waikato Stadium in Hamilton for the game against Japan, before spending five days training in Christchurch prior to the crucial Pool A tousle with France on the 24th September at Eden Park. The final All Black Pool A fixture will be against Canada on 2nd October at the Wellington Regional Stadium.
The All Blacks have played a total of 36 matches in the six Rugby World Cup tournaments. They were the only team who had made it to all the semi-finals at the world cup between 1987 and 2003, but in 2007 France beat them 20-18 knocking them out of the world cup at the quarter-final stage. Although being constantly ranked number 1 and favourites before most world cups, they have a poor record of winning the tournament compared to competing countries like Australia and South Africa. New Zealand has also hosted the World Cup and are hosting the forthcoming tournament in 2011.

The Tongan Rugby team is known as ?Ikale Tahi? or the ?Sea Eagles? and first played internationally in 1924. Tonga competed in the inaugural RWC and have appeared at every Tournament since 1995, but are yet to make it past the pool phase. Tonga?s most successful appearance came in 2007 when they had two pool match wins and nearly defeated eventual winners South Africa. For RWC 2011, Tonga will feature in the opening match against hosts New Zealand. Fans can expect the Sipi Tau (Tongan war dance) to be as fierce as the Rugby.
