Business Sales Training ? How to establish the require

Post by Business Education Good results

Business product sales education is often going to be a priority because no make any difference what the profits are, management will always see place for improvement. This is why the want is there for business sales coaching. As a result far, this has been the finest way to make certain the training is provided to these who are able of passing it down. When identifying profits instruction requirements, a single of the very first factors regarded as is whether the revenue are up or down. If they are down, there will definitely be a truly feel that there is a need to have for revenue instruction.

One more way to determine if this is an option that requirements to be regarded as is how well your revenue staff understands the notion of sales. Do they feel they are performing a great occupation? Are they possessing difficulties with closing profits? The major details of sales are to get the buyer fascinated, make them really feel as if this is the finest choice, and close the sale. Is this completed in a expert way? There are so many inquiries when it comes to generating profits quotas and doing it in the correct way.

The corporate sales instruction that is supplied to your employees, specially the sales professionals is part of the education they need to understand if the revenue instruction is essential by the staff for which they are liable. Do they come to feel there is a want to practice them or are the troubles somewhere else?

If your profits staff is aware of the variation amongst a sound lead and a ?just looking? man or woman, they most likely have mastered this part of the sales coaching. The competent revenue agent will be ready to place this right away. The person who is genuinely fascinated in acquiring is the a single they will want to focus on providing the best customer services. If your revenue individuals can acknowledge this stage, this is an additional portion of corporate profits coaching that is not required.

Can your workers perform out any previous moment troubles with a buyer with out getting to come to you for every small thing? If not, they are in want of instruction to train them how to offer with these circumstances. A very good salesman will know how to set their client at ease and consider care of any concerns they may have.

It may be difficult to imagine, but pouring juice into a plastic cup can be a great challenge to a robot. While one hand holds the glass bottle firmly, the other one must gently grasp the cup. Researchers at Saarland University together with associates in Bologna and Naples have developed a robotic hand that can accomplish both tasks with ease and yet including the actuators is scarcely larger than a human arm. This was made possible by a novel string actuator, making use of small electric motors to twist strings. The robotic hand is thus powerful yet delicate and could one day be deployed as a helper around the house or in catastrophic scenarios.

We wanted to impart our robotic hand with a broad spectrum of human traits. Its artificial muscles should be able to deliver enormous forces by simple and compact means", explains Chris May, scientist at Saarland University's Laboratory of Actuation Technology. The robotic hand was recently presented during a meeting at the Forschungszentrum Informatik in Karlsruhe. It is an example of some of the new steps taken in robotic research within the scope of the European project DEXMART. Over the past four years international scientists developed various concepts, especially focussed on increasing the versatility with which two-arm robots can be implemented. The European Union sponsored the research consortium to the sum of 6.3 million Euros.

When robots help around the house or should save people from a burning building, they need to have hands which can grasp with strength but at the same time gently", explains Hartmut Janocha, Professor of Process Automation at Saarland University. The challenge lies in trying to make the necessary technology fit within the robotic arm such that it does not differ significantly from a human arm in terms of size and form. We came up with a simple, yet extremely effective idea: using strings that are twisted by small, high-speed motors, we are able to exert high tensile forces within a compact space", explains mechatronic researcher May. The sensorised and controlled robotic hand is able to touch diverse objects, to grasp and lift them and place them gently in a new position. Chris May demonstrated this in Karlsruhe with a delicate Easter egg and a heavy glass bottle.

Extremely strong polymer strings enable the Saarbrcken researchers to lift a five kilogram load by 30 mm within a split second, making use of a small electric motor and a 20 cm long string. Each robotic finger, which like a human finger is comprised of three segments, can be controlled precisely by means of the individual tendons ", describes Chris May the novel miniature actuator. The mini electric motors run at high speed and a small torque on the order of five Newton-millimetres. The capability of the robotic hand is so near to that of humans that the vision of robots as personal assistants in the household, in the operating room as well as in industrial settings is becoming ever more realistic. We presume that the combination of small electric motors with twisted string is interesting for other applications as well", the researcher reckons.

Complementing the topics of robotic hand design, actuation and sensor development, the other DEXMART research teams addressed topics of programming by demonstration, object grasping and manipulation as well as human-robot interaction. A total of eight universities and research institutes in Germany, France, Italy and Great Britain participated in the European funded research initiative.

Penn biologists identify a key enzyme involved in protecting nerves from degeneration

Penn biologists identify a key enzyme involved in protecting nerves from degeneration [ Back to EurekAlert! ] Public release date: 30-Mar-2012

PHILADELPHIA - A new animal model of nerve injury has brought to light a critical role of an enzyme called Nmnat in nerve fiber maintenance and neuroprotection. Understanding biological pathways involved in maintaining healthy nerves and clearing away damaged ones may offer scientists targets for drugs to mitigate neurodegenerative diseases such as Huntington's and Parkinson's, as well as aid in situations of acute nerve damage, such as spinal cord injury.

University of Pennsylvanian biologists developed the model in the adult fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster.

"We are using the basic power of the fly to learn about how neurons are damaged in acute injury situations," said Nancy Bonini, senior author of the research and a professor in the Department of Biology at Penn. "Our work indicates that Nmnat may be key."

The research was published in Current Biology. First author on the study is postdoctoral researcher Yanshan Fang, with additional contributions from postdoctoral researcher Lorena Soares and research technicians Xiuyin Teng and Melissa Geary, all of Penn's Department of Biology.

When a nerve suffers an acute injury -- as might be caused by a penetrating wound, for example, or a broken bone that damages nearby tissues -- the long projection of the nerve cell, called the axon, can become injured and degenerate. The process by which it disintegrates is known as Wallerian or Wallerian-like degeneration and is an active, orderly process.

Though this function of eliminating damaged nerve cells is crucial, biologists do not have a clear understanding of all of the molecular signaling pathways that govern the process.

Bonini's lab has previously focused on chronic neurodegenerative diseases but made this foray into acute nerve injury to determine if mechanistic overlaps exist between acute axon injury and chronic neurodegeneration. They first searched for an appropriate nerve tract to target and identified the wing of adult flies as a prime option.

The fly wing is not only translucent and a site of lengthy nerve fibers that can be easily observed, but it can also be cut to cause injury without killing the fly. That way, the researchers can follow the animal's response to nerve injury for weeks.

Using various reagents to manipulate the fly's genetic traits, the team confirmed that the cut wing nerve underwent Wallerian degeneration. They then tested versions of Nmnat and another protein called WldS, all of which had previously been shown to protect nerves from degeneration, to see if any of these might stop the process. All significantly delayed neurodegeneration. Even a form of Nmnat that hadn't worked in other animal models suppressed degeneration, although to a lesser extent.

"That indicates that our assay is really sensitive," Bonini said. "This sensitivity could help us identify genes that have moderate although important functionality at protecting against nerve degeneration."

Their investigations into the wing nerve also showed that the degenerating axon "died back," fragmenting first from the axon terminals, the side farthest from the nerve cell bodya pattern similar to what has been seen in other disorders.

Doing more genetic tinkering, the researchers showed that when the animal's own Nmnat was depleted, the nerves fragmented in the same way as if the axon was physically cut. And when Nmnat and the other "rescue" proteins were added back to these genetically modified flies, they were able to block degeneration, highlighting that Nmnat is critical to maintaining healthy axons.

In a final set of experiments, the biologists sought to narrow where in the nerve cells Nmnat might be working. They focused on mitochondria, the powerhouses of cells. When they created a genetic line of flies that blocked mitochondria from entering the axon fibers, the nerve tract degenerated, again, in a dying-back fashion. Yet now WldS and Nmnat failed to prevent axon degeneration, suggesting that those proteins may act on and require the presence of axonal mitochondria to maintain healthy nerves in normal flies.

Flipping that scenario around, they looked to see what happened to the mitochondria of flies upon nerve injury. When they cut the wing nerve axons, the mitochondria rapidly disappeared. Yet they can largely preserve the mitochrondria by increasing expression of Nmnat.

Their results, taken together with the findings of other studies, suggest that Nmnat may stabilize mitochondria in some way in order to keep axons in a healthy state.

"We have some hope that these proteins or their activity may someday serve as drug targets or could provide the foundation for a therapeutic advance," Bonini said. "But right now, my hope is that the power of the fly model will open up a lot of new directions of research and new pathways that could be targets for development in the future."

The use of fixed service satellite Technology - Cash-Bandit.com

A fixed service satellite (FSS) is a type of satellite used for services like telephone calls, and television signals for broadcasting. FSS generally has a low power output and larger dish-style antennas are needed for reception. FSS satellites have less power than direct broadcasting satellites (DBS).FSS satellites have also been used for Direct-To-Home (DTH) satellite television channels in North America since the late 1970s. This function has been mostly displaced by DBS television systems beginning in 1994 when DirecTV stared the first DBS television system. FSS satellites in North America are also employed to relay channels of cable TV networks from their originating studios to local cable headends and to the operations centers of DBS services to be re-broadcast over their DBS systems.

FSS satellites were the first geosynchronous communications satellites launched in space. Systems used to receive television channels and other feeds from FSS satellites are usually termed as Television Receive Only or TVRO systems, as well as big-dish systems. This is due to a much larger dish size in comparison to systems for DBS satellite reception.

The Dish Network satellite TV service also depends on FSS satellite technology in the Ku band to give the needed extra ability to manage local channels needed by FCC must-carry rules and make room for high definition TV resolution. The old Super Dish system that network stopped manufacture of years ago, receives circularly-polarized DBS 12.7?GHz from both 110-degree or the Echostar 8 and 10 satellites and 119-degree or the Echostar 7 satellite) orbital locations as well as linearly-polarized FSS 11.7?GHz from either the 121-degree or Echostar 9 or 105-degree orbital locations reliant on consumer selection. Those FSS satellites are not used for Dish Network home subscribers any more, and are now used completely for commercial or corporate services. It has an oval LNB called a DP DBS/FSS Dual Band. This LNB will receive both the 119-degree and 118.7-degree satellites.

While the original Dish Network satellites use circular polarity at 12.7?GHz, the newer Intelsat 13/Echostar 9 satellite at 121-degrees uses the older FSS technology to broadcast commercial and corporate services. As a result, recent DiSH Network receivers are planned to receive both circular and linearly-polarized signals at two different intermediary frequencies from up to five different orbital locations.

The SuperDish had three low-noise block downconverters to hold the three satellites and two different technologies. SuperDish came in two configurations: SuperDiSH 121 was for international programming but is presently employed wholly for commercial and corporate services and SuperDiSH 105 which is presently used specifically for commercial and corporate services. These two configurations were used for high definition and for customers in areas whose local channels are only available on the 105-degree satellite. As with other FSS technologies these signals have much lower power and as a result the SuperDISH is a very large and unbalanced attachment. However, since the SuperDISH is under 1-meter in width it cannot be disqualified by homeowners? associations.

Deaths from cancer in U.S. continue to fall | The Raw Story

By Agence France-Presse
Wednesday, March 28, 2012 18:28 EDT

?

WASHINGTON ? Cancer deaths in the United States continued to decline over the past decade, said a yearly report on US cancer statistics released Wednesday.

Trends in death rates from cancer declined an average of 1.7 percent per year among men and 1.3 percent among women and children from 1998 to 2008, the latest period studied, said the Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer.

New cancer diagnoses also decreased less than one percent per year from 1996 to 2006 and leveled off from 2006 to 2008.

Cancer rates and deaths began to decline among US men and women in the 1990s, marking the first such drop since the 1930s.

The report is compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries, the National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society.

The decline in death rates was seen for many common cancers, but there were some exceptions.

Among men and women, death rates due to pancreatic cancer rose slightly. Death rates from liver cancer and melanoma rose among men, and death rates from uterine cancer rose in women.

The report focused in the average yearly incidence rates of cancers and cancer deaths per 100,000 people in the population, and highlighted the problem of cancers caused by obesity in a nation where two in three people are overweight or obese.

?This report emphasizes that the growing obesity problem and decreased overall physical activity in our society compared to decades ago have a real impact on multiple diseases, including cancer,? said Jeffrey Meyerhardt, a colorectal cancer expert at Harvard University.

?While we currently see declines in incidence of many cancers, if obesity continues at the current rates, I believe these improvements in incidences will reverse and increase over time.?

Cancers that may be linked to eating habits and weight include colorectal cancer, as well as cancer of the kidney, esophagus, pancreas, breast and endometrial lining.

?If you watch your diet, exercise, and manage your weight, you can not only prevent your risk of getting many lethal forms of cancer, you will also increase your chances of doing well, if you should get almost any form of cancer,? added Edward Benz, president of Dana-Farber Cancer in Institute in Boston.

The American Cancer Society has projected that 577,190 Americans will die of cancer in 2012 and more than 1.6 million new cases will be diagnosed.

Your health and fitness routine deserves the same amount of attention, whether you?re just beginning to map out your exercise plan or trying to expand and boost your level of fitness routine.

Setting Goals to improve your health and Fitness Exercise

It is best to know the reasons you would like to get fit prior to deciding to begin a brand new physical fitness program. Maybe your pants split because you woke up to greet your blind date, so you thought, ?I really should do something in regards to this.? You may cannot keep up with your grand children. Maybe heart related illnesses runs within your family, so you prefer to avoid carrying on that tradition.

Unpleasant, remember to be repeating this for yourself. You?re not executing it in order to please your mother-in-law or your physician. Then, after getting evaluated your current fitness level start setting specific goals. Research indicates that goal-setting works.

Ideas need to go through the several types of goals make sure you set.

Tip 1 ? Long-term goals

Give yourself a moment frame for one more several months. A number of people get really creative using their long-term goals into their health and fitness plan.

You have to maintain your long-term goals are realistic. If you have made a decision to run your first full marathon, you don?t have to operate all of the marathon on the first work out. Alternatively, do not be afraid to dream. Visualize that you will are running from your marathon competition. Choose a goal that actually sparks yourself on. This is an issue that may perhaps be not even considered at the present time but is not out from the an entire world of possibility. Consumers are often surprised at what you can accomplish.

My uncle Dave was 60 years when shortly fater he began practicing for a half marathon race. He trained 6 days 7 days along with buddy. After six months to train, Uncle Dave successfully completed the half marathon. He was the oldest one around the competition, but he was not the slowest. His success inspired him to prepare to jog the total marathon.

It is advisable to judge for your self what?s realistic. Many people rise to your occasion when they set goals that appear virtually impossible. People get discouraged by setting extremely high expectations. If you?re a beginner, try and set moderately challenging goals. If you reach your goals prior to when you expect which is the a chance to choose more ambitious ones. Below are a few concrete an example of long-term goals that may spark your imagination:

Complete a 20-kilometer run in Three hours 6 months away. Drop 5 percent body fat in 20 weeks.

Tip 2 ? Short-term goals

Half a year is a while to have to wait for feelings of success. So that you can stay motivated, you?ll want to feel feelings of accomplishment on the way. Set short-term goals for starters week to at least one month. For example:

Use the stair-climber 4x immediately for A half-hour each time.

Enhance your one-kilometer walk by Half a minute available as one week.

Bicycle 50 kilometers every week for the following three weeks.

Tip 3 ? Immediate goals

Immediate goals refer to goals for each week, day, or workout. By doing this, while you walk into the health health club, you don not waste anytime determining which exercises to do. Here are an example of immediate goals:

Visit the health fitness club Thrice every week

Run 5 kilometers 2 times a week.

Bicycle 15 kilometers twice a week.

The truth is, goals are just like a points on the compass that will assist to go to the destination you need to get to.

Weight-loss surgery effective against diabetes, studies show

In findings that promise radical changes in the care of the 20 million U.S. patients with Type 2 diabetes, two new clinical trials have shown that weight-loss surgery brings about dramatically greater improvement of blood sugar control in obese diabetics than standard diabetes care.

In both studies, even rigorously supervised regimens of diet, exercise and medications failed to bring blood sugar under good control after a year or more. In contrast, two teams of researchers ? one in Italy, the other in the United States ? reported that surgical procedures to reduce the size and sometimes the placement of the stomach often allowed subjects to discontinue diabetes medications within weeks.

Both studies were published online Monday in the New England Journal of Medicine. One of them, by researchers at the Cleveland Clinic and Harvard University, was presented Monday at the American College of Cardiology's annual meeting in Chicago.

In an accompanying editorial in the journal, diabetes specialists Paul Zimmet and K. George M.M. Alberti wrote that although surgical weight-loss procedures were "not yet" a panacea for the worldwide epidemic of Type 2 diabetes, the new research "suggests they should not be seen as a last resort."

"Such procedures might well be considered earlier in the treatment of obese patients with Type 2 diabetes," Zimmet and Alberti wrote. Zimmet is a specialist at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia, and Alberti is at King's College in London.

"Now we know that treating diabetes can ? and should ? be a primary reason for doing this surgery," said Dr. Lee M. Kaplan, director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Weight Center. Such surgery should not be the first line of treatment, Kaplan said, but it should become a fallback for patients whose blood sugar control remains poor despite medications and lifestyle changes.

"We ought to be using it more," he said.

Both studies examined patients who had undergone one of three bariatric surgery procedures: biliopancreatic diversion, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy. In addition to improved blood sugar control, all experienced significantly greater weight loss than those on standard drug treatment.

Both studies also reported that subjects who had surgery saw more improvement in some, though not all, cholesterol measures than those on standard diabetes therapy.

In general, the studies found that the scale of improvements in patients' metabolic function and weight loss tracked the degree to which the surgical procedures reshaped the gastrointestinal system. Biliopancreatic diversion, the most radical of the operations, appeared to produce the most radical improvements, followed by Roux-en-Y bypass and sleeve gastrectomy.

Neither study looked at lap-band surgery, which is less invasive and accounts for a large proportion of bariatric procedures in the U.S.

In biliopancreatic diversion, part of the stomach is removed to reduce its capacity; in Roux-en-Y bypass, the stomach is shrunk by stapling off a large part of it. In both procedures, the stomach is relocated so that its contents are routed past much of the lower intestine, where the most calories and nutrients are absorbed.

Sleeve gastrectomy does not move the stomach or alter the way food enters or leaves it; but it does refashion the stomach into a banana-shaped tube with about 20% of its former capacity.

The U.S. study examined 150 people, 100 of whom received surgery ? half had sleeve gastrectomy and half had Roux-en-Y gastric bypass ? and 50 who got intensive medication, monitoring, and diet and exercise counseling.

Those in the surgery group dramatically reduced their need for medication of all kinds. Many subjects were taking 10 to 12 medications daily, including insulin injections, said Dr. Philip R. Schauer, director of the Cleveland Clinic Bariatric and Metabolic Institute and lead author of the study.

At the end of one year, 78% of those who had gastric bypass and 51% of those who had sleeve gastrectomy were off all diabetes medications. The proportion of subjects taking lipid-lowering medication such as a statin dropped from 86% to 27% among those who had gastric bypass, and was cut in half among those who had sleeve gastrectomy.

"Were they happy? They were ecstatic," Schauer said. "With one, single intervention, the patient gets so much benefit."

In the Italian study, 60 obese diabetic patients were divided into three groups: one got "conventional care," including medications; a second group underwent Roux-en-Y bypass; and a third had biliopancreatic diversion.

At two years, 95% of those in the biliopancreatic diversion group experienced a remission of their diabetes, as did 75% of those in the Roux-en-Y group. Though blood sugar control improved in the conventional therapy group, there were no remissions among those subjects.

Motorola Connected Home Gateway home automation all-in-one hits the FCC with Verizon tags

Image
We first got our eyes on Motorola's Connected Home Gateway home automation box during CES 2012, and now that it's passed through the FCC it should be ready to do its all-in-one magic in real consumer's homes sometime soon. What makes this device special is its ability to speak more than one of the various wireless home control protocols currently in use, easily connecting to, controlling and spitting out macros to make multiple things happen with a minimum of user interference or setup. Want to dim the lights, lower the temperature and turn on security cams as soon as you step outside your door? It can do that. This will all be a part of Verizon's Z-wave based Home Monitoring and Control system at some point, if you're still wondering what possibilities are out there, check out our CES demo video embedded after the break.

Hearing Center | Health and Fitness

Parents are always at the ready when it comes to telling their children to turn down the television, don?t listen to your iPod too loudly, and getting them to avoid obviously ear-damaging activities. But your local hearing center might be aghast if they saw some of the toys your children were playing with. It doesn?t take extraordinarily loud volumes to do permanent damage to your ears if you?re exposed to it enough. And kids can give a new meaning to repetition. If you want to make sure they don?t go deaf before they grow into adults, here are some things to be wary of.

In an effort to warn parents about the potential dangers surrounding noisy toys, the Sight and Hearing Association releases a yearly list outlining some of the noisiest toys on the market. These toys are often purchased and give to children as presents, with the parents being completely oblivious to the fact that they could be doing them a big disservice. Parents don?t typically pick the noisiest possible toys on purpose (for their own sanity, if not the protection of their children?s ears), but these toys aren?t always obvious. You can consult with your local hearing center about toy safety.

Associations like the Centers for Disease Control publish standards when it comes to how much noise the human ear can and should withstand on a regular basis. Federally, the decibel level is set at 85dB. At that level or higher, the government warns citizens that ear protection should be worn, as you could be exposing yourself to long term damage. Once noise damage occurs, there?s no way to reverse the process. That ability to hear has been lost forever. But while a hearing center often sees people come through the doors who suffered from auditory loss on account of their profession, few people notice that kids? toys are regularly passing that decibel level.

In addition to perusing the SHA?s list of noisy toys, you can take responsibility into your own hands by testing toys in the store before you bring them home. Most stores are happy to let you try out a toy with batteries, especially if you explain why it is that you want to give it a trial run. Hold the toy close to your face, as this is what many kids do when they play. Is it too loud for you? It will be even louder for your child, whose small ear canals compress sound. You wouldn?t let your child play with a laser that could potentially cause blindness, so make sure you take the same precautions as it pertains to your child?s ears.
