NEAR CARLSBAD, N.M. ? Officials are investigating after human remains were found near Carlsbad.
New Mexico State Police tell NewsWest 9, the Eddy County Sheriff's Office called them to investigate the human remains on Monday.
The human remains were found in a 30 foot by 30 foot dry lake bed by some hikers in an area commonly known as Champion Bay.
The remains have been taken to Albuquerque for identification and determination of cause of death.
